Langis Michaud

Dr Langis Michaud is graduated from École d’optométrie de l’Université de Montréal (OD 1986, MSC 1998).  He graduated also from  École Nationale d’Administration Publique (ENAP) in 2006. He is a full professor and practices at Université de Montréal since 2001, was nominated head of the contact lens department (2005).

Main research interests are myopia control, scleral contact lenses, keratoneuralgia and eye dryness. He published also on ocular manifestations of Fabry disease.

 

Maria K. Walker

Maria Walker OD, MS, PhD is a clinician scientist with a focus on keratoconus, childhood myopia, and specialty contact lenses. She graduated with an OD/MS from The New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA, USA in 2013 and then completed a one-year Cornea & Contact Lens Residency at Pacific University in Portland, OR. She joined the faculty at University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO) in 2014 and went on to complete a PhD on the impact of a scleral lens on the eye in 2021.

Dr. Walker is currently an Assistant Professor at UHCO and runs a research lab studying keratoconus, the tear film, and the effects of scleral lenses. She is also an investigator on the BLINK study to evaluate the use of soft multifocal contact lenses in reducing myopic progression in children and provides specialty contact lens patient care two days per week.

Dr. Walker is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry, a Past President of the Scleral Lens Education Society, and an advisory board member of the Gas Permeable Lens Institute.

 

Randy Kojima

Randy Kojima is the Clinical Research and Development Director for Precision Technology based in Vancouver, Canada. He also serves as an Adjunct Clinical  Professor at the Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. Additionally, he is a clinical advisor to Medmont Instruments in Melbourne, Australia.

Randy has published numerous articles and submitted posters on various contact lens related topics as well as been a contributing author in a number of text book chapters. He lectures globally and enjoys sharing insights, methods and research with eye care colleagues from around the world.

Randy is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, the British Contact Lens Association, the Scleral Lens Education Society and the International Academy of Orthokeratology.

 

Kjersti Lindblad

Kjersti Lindblad arbejder til dagligt som lektor på optometristuddannelsen i København. Hun har en Master of Science i klinisk optometri fra USA, og en Master of Public Health fra KU hvor hendes speciale netop omhandlede forebyggelse af myopi.

Kjersti sidder i bestyrelsen for Dansk Selskab for Optometri og har været med til at udvikle flere kliniske retningslinjer for danske optometrister, samt anbefalinger omkring håndtering af myope patienter.

 

Ayoe Blohm

Ayoe Blohm udlært 1994 optometrist. Har siden 2004 været medejer af Buus Optik i Roskilde som har en lang historie, med at lave special linser for regioner og andre med behovet.

Har siden 1994 haft en stor kærlighed for multifocale linser og har holdt adskillige foredrag om blandt andet dette emne . Har gennem årene arbejdet som Key opinion leader for adskillige kontaktlinsefirmaer udover at være bestyrelsesmedlem i Danmarks Optikerforening og Formand for Dansk Selskab for Optometri.

 

Jéssica Costa

Jéssica Costa has a bachelor’s degree in optometry and Vision Sciences as well as a master’s degree in advanced optometry from the University of Minho – Portugal.

Furthermore, Jéssica Costa has conducted a pilot study on orthokeratology contact lenses in myopic patients.

The pilot study yielded two scientific articles, numerous posters, and international oral presentations.

In 2021, Jéssica Costa joined Optiforum as a Technical Consultant with the goal of providing specialized support to vision professionals, while also offering solutions to the various challenges encountered in day-to-day work.

As a contact lens specialist Jéssica Costa designs and customizes lenses to address specific visual needs or eye conditions that go beyond the capabilities of standard contact lenses.

She also manages conditions like irregular corneas as in keratoconus, PMD, post-Lasik, post-PRK, post-transplant, dry eye, and others.

 

Anders Ivarsen

Overlæge og PhD ved Afdeling for Øjensygdomme ved Aarhus Universitetshospital.

Arbejder til dagligt i afdelingens hornhindesektion, og har i mange år forsket og arbejdet inden for medicinsk og kirurgisk behandling af hornhindelidelser og refraktiv hornhindekirurgi for nærsynethed og bygningsfejl.
